- The IB DP is a rigorous two year programme (studied in Years 12 and 13) that requires students to study 6 subjects (3 at Higher Level; 3 at Standard Level) plus the core components: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity Action Service (CAS). The maximum possible score is 45 points. 24 points, with no failing conditions, is the minimum diploma pass mark.

INTERNATIONAL GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (I/GCSE)
The I/GCSE is a two year qualification (Years 10 and 11) whereby students will typically study a minimum seven (7) I/GCSE subjects, including English and Mathematics. The I/GCSE is now typically graded 9 (highest) to 1 (lowest), with a small minority of subjects still graded A* (highest) to G (lowest).
I/GCSE RESULTS 2019
71 students completed the I/GCSE qualification (33 boys; 38 girls; 13 UAE students).
Al Bateen Academy’s attainment in 5 or more subjects at 9 – 4 points for 2019 was 94%*.
Attainment in 5 or more IGCSE subjects at 9 – 5, including English and Mathematics, was 90%.
50% of all IGCSE grades achieved were 9 or 8.
*The UK average was approximately 65%.
